Reneé Rapp’s Topless Teaser Has WLW Fans Spiraling Over New Music Drop

Nearly two years after ‘Snow Angel,’ Reneé Rapp teases her next chapter with a pair of striking clips.
If you heard a collective gay gasp this week, it was Reneé Rapp’s fault.
On Tuesday, the Mean Girls star and alt-pop darling set social media ablaze after posting two sultry teaser clips announcing her upcoming music drop, slated for May 21. And while fans were already hungry for new material following her 2023 debut album Snow Angel, the way she announced it left no room for subtlety.

In the first of the two clips, Rapp appears topless from behind. Flexing her biceps and rocking a backward baseball cap that reads “BITE ME,” she shakes her head to the beat of a new track.

In the second TikTok teaser, which some are speculating is a sneak peek of the official “Bite Me” music video, we’re transported to an intimate scene where various women lounge on a bed. The camera then cuts to Rapp, dead center, surrounded by the women, looking straight into the lens as she sings: “I’m a real bad girl but a real good kisser.”
Yes, Reneé. We know.
Unsurprisingly, the sapphic internet had to take several moments to collect its jaw off the floor.
Rapp’s girlfriend, British singer-songwriter Towa Bird, kept it succinct, replying simply: “aye.” Musician Storyboards, on the other hand, chimed in with: “god I love being a lesbian.”
Singer Olivia O’Brien screamed in all caps: “LET’S GOOOOO,” and one particularly observant male fan offered up his “congratulations to all lesbians and wlw’s out there.”

Fans have been antsy for new music from Rapp since she hinted at her sophomore project in mid-2024. She told Instagram’s Close Friends Only podcast that year “23 to 24 has been such a massive difference for me. [The new album is] about this … and to this point, a reflection on my 23rd year specifically … It was so bad, and I thought 22 was insane for me.”
“Bite Me” looks like it’s about to kick off that new era, and based on these teasers, it’s coming in hot.
May 21. Save the date. Hydrate. Stay gay.
