Ko Tin Zaw Htwe, a 25-year-old TikTok star, was found dead in a forested area of western Thailand on January 20. According to local reports, the popular influencer was beaten to death. One person has been arrested as the investigation continues.

Police were called to a grassy area in the Mae Sot District of Tak Province after a local resident discovered a body beneath a tree. Ko Tin Zaw Htwe, who was originally from Myanmar and had nearly one million followers on TikTok, was later identified as the victim.

According to local reporting, Htwe was found face down and bleeding heavily from the head. His pants were pulled down, and a blood-stained wooden stick was recovered nearby. His gold jewelry and mobile phone were missing from the scene.

The Bangkok Post reported that Htwe’s face showed signs of severe trauma consistent with being struck by a hard object. Other items found nearby included a shoulder bag, cosmetics, a bank book, an empty alcohol bottle, and a condom.

Friends told reporters that Htwe disappeared late on January 18 after “receiving a call via social media from someone asking for help.” He left his accommodation in the middle of the night and never returned. Police believe he was deliberately lured to the secluded location, suggesting the attack may have been premeditated.

A day before his death, Htwe posted his final TikTok video. In the clip, he lip-syncs to a song while holding packaged T-shirts similar to the one he is wearing. The comments section has since filled with grief and shock.
