I’m not crying, you’re crying

Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd have one of the sweetest relationships in the WNBA. While they have never kept their relationship secret, they don’t speak about it publicly very often.

Choosing instead initially to tease it with mirror selfies. Before finally confirming they are a couple.

But now, in Apple TV’s new three-part docuseries, The Dynasty: UConn Huskies, the Dallas Wings stars were ready to open up about where it all began while the two were in college together.

“Azzi ended up joining the team my sophomore year,” Bueckers shares in the docuseries. “It kinda just meshed as soon as we met. She’s sweet, she’s genuine, she has a huge, caring heart.”

The chemistry between the two was special and immediate, she recalled.

“We kind of felt a spark a little bit different than what would just be considered a normal friendship,” said Bueckers, sharing that the two were able to confide in one another and understand what the other was going through during their season at UConn.

They approached their relationship in the beginning much the way they do now, as private but not a secret, Fudd explained in the docuseries. “Paige and I are a couple, and everyone close to us that was important knew, but it was kind of one of those things…it’s just, it’s private. Not a secret, but it’s private,” she explained.

The two would go on to win the NCAA title in 2025, before Bueckers was first drafted into the WNBA that same year, followed by Fudd in 2026. Today, they play on the Dallas Wings, together.
