GO MAGAZINE PRESENTS

A VERY SURREAL NEW YEARS EVE, DEC 31
Last year was so nice, GO is doing it twice! Ring in 2014 with hundreds of your besties and new friends at A Very Surreal New Year’s Eve, taking over TriBeCa’s AOA Bar and Lounge December 31. This bash, produced by GO in association with Maggie C Events, will be co-produced and hosted by luscious lovebirds Kiyomi and Lauren of The Real L Word. In a reality-TV reunion, their co-stars Whitney Mixter and Sada Bettencourt will pop by for a special appearance, complete with flowing Champagne, silly hats and noisemakers galore! Watch the ball drop in Times Square on 20 giant TVs throughout the spacious venue, and step right up for your complimentary Champagne toast at the stroke of midnight. Score specially priced GO cocktails for $9 a pop. Plus, shake off 2013 to the energetic sounds of DJ Stacy and DJ Lezz Van Halen all night! If all this fails to convince you to venture into the cold, maybe this party’s ultra-convenient location and super-fast, new-and-improved admission for advanced ticket holders will. Have we mentioned that the subway stops right outside the door? Consider your excuses moot. Don’t miss this once-a-year extravaganza!

A DIFFERENT KIND OF LADIES NIGHT, DEC 27 AND JAN 9
With more than 3,000 members, A Different Kind of Ladies Night is NYC’s largest lesbian Meetup group. Hundreds of women meet for planned social gatherings, from picnics in Central Park to community- improvement projects to super-fun nighttime parties. Ninety percent of the events are free, while the rest carry a modest cover charge. This winter, ADKLN invites you to two upcoming Meetups. On December 27, the girls will rock the AquaNet at an after-work ‘80s dance party at 49 Grove. And on January 9, ADKLN launches a new Thursday party for women at the DL, one of the top venues on the Lower East Side. So what are you waiting for?

HENRIETTA HUDSON’S DECA-DANCE, DEC 31
Put on your best raccoon coat or rolled stockings and make your way to Henrietta Hudson on New Year’s Eve. The beloved bar and girl will be transformed into a 1920s speakeasy a la the Great Gatsby for one mesmerizing night! Flapper frocks and spats for the fellas are encouraged—a killer costume will get you half-off admission. The sexy staff will be doling out free feather boas to the first 25 and free “giggle juice” for the first 100 partiers through the door, plus thematic drink specials throughout the night and noisemakers, hats and other goodies! DJ Culi adds a touch of Tin Pan Alley to her repertoire of house and pop hits. Celebrate Henrietta’s 23rd NYE extravaganza with your favorite females—it’ll be the bee’s knees!

GIRLNATIONNYC, JAN 3
We hope you won’t blow your wad on December 31, because you’ll want to celebrate the start of the new year on January 3 at girlNATIONnyc! The long-running party, dubbed “NYC’s sexiest girl party” by you, dear readers, takes over Stonewall on the first Friday of every month. Hana and her bevy of beautiful women heat up the legendary West Village bar’s upstairs lounge with a rotating cast of guest DJs, bartenders and gorgeous go go vixens. For the first celebration of 2014, Hana welcomes guest DJ Ri-Mix and resident DJ Stacy for a post-holiday helping of dance floor anthems. Sexy bartenders Michele and Mel provide the refreshments, while go go dancer Lu Lu sets your heart on fire.

VINTAGE, JAN 5
Come January, some of you may be a little worn out from holiday cheer. When the memories of egg nog or Secret Santa gifting make you want to barf all over your Christmas sweater, relax and regroup at Vintage. The elegant 49 Grove is the scene for a traditional tea dance that’s designed to bring you back to sophistication and sensuality. DJ Stacy provides the pop and disco soundtrack. Try a nip from the expansive wine list or cocktail selection, or just get to know some of the hundreds of women who come to Vintage every month. Best of all, a portion of your cover charge will benefit the EMS Initiative for Cherry Grove Fire Island. Do good and have a good time at this afternoon delight.

TWO IN THE BUSH, WEDNESDAYS
Wednesdays has been ladies night at beloved Williamsburg gay haunt Metropolitan for as long as we can remember. It’s had a few different names, but the current incarnation is perhaps the most…evocative. Gender disillusionist Princess Mickey Jaeger hosts Two in the Bush, bringing in weekly guest DJs from the local queer crop and doling out cheap shooters from the gorgeous roving shot babes. Metropolitan’s famous PBR special and nightly happy hour with two-for-one drinks is perhaps the best game plan for getting over the midweek hump. Now that winter’s here, curl up next to the bar’s toasty fireplaces or warm your cockles by dancing all night to rock, electro, metal or hip hop.

LESBO-A-GO-GO, FRIDAYS
After more than six years, Lesbo-a-Go-Go is still going strong at Stonewall. The weekly Friday party brings women back to where the LGBT movement began, and the bar continues to promote equality by hosting fundraisers, rallies and victory celebrations. Remember when Edie Windsor won her landmark case before the Supreme Court last June? Thousands of people celebrated at Stonewall, from early morning to well into the wee hours. That’s the kind of dedication that makes Lesbo-a-Go-Go the go-to party to kick off your weekend! Oh yeah—the cheap-ass drinks, party anthems and drop-dead gorgeous go-go girls might have something to do with it too.

HOT RABBIT, FRIDAYS
This hopping (ahem) Friday party is a mixed bag in the best sense of the phrase. Boy Wonder Events racks up a schedule of local, national and international queer DJs with different tastes and styles every week; the go go gods and goddesses work hard for the money; and the occasional live artists showcase the cutting-edge of queer performance. Also, stiff drinks for as little as $5. How do we know this is a recipe for success? The ultra-diverse crowd keeps coming back for more, week after week. Check the party’s Facebook page for the super-secret weekly password that guarantees free entry at the Monster. Then, rock out to these upcoming guest DJs: M.O. on Dec 20, A Village Raid on Dec 27 and D’hana on Jan 3.
