GO Magazine’s
5th Anniversary Extravaganza
Featuring
Leisha Hailey
and her band Uh Huh Her

The month of December brings us not only warm holiday tidings, but an even hotter anniversary bash celebrating our fabulously free publication—five years running strong!  This year on Dec 6, join Leisha Hailey, the loveable “Alice Pieszecki,” from the Showtime series The L Word, headlining with her electro-pop duo Uh Huh Her, live at Webster Hall. The expansive venue, renowned for the best sound and lighting in NYC is one of the city’s hottest venues. Expect a cast of surprise guests at the shindig including some of your favorite celesbians.  Previous guests have included:  Jackie Warner, Kim Stolz, Michelle Wolff, Michele Balan, Marga Gomez and Daniela Sea.

General admission tickets include  complimentary cocktails from 7 to 8pm. Girls with a GO Anniversary VIP Pass can mingle with the stars in our VIP lounge, plus score complimentary cocktails all night long.

A portion of the event proceeds will also benefit the Callen Lorde Community Health Center. For over 36 years, this center has been the city’s primary resource in providing health care assistance to LGBT communities and those living with HIV/AIDS. So, mark your calendars, keep close to the East Village and party the night away with 1,500 of our closest friends!

Starf*cker
It’s no surprise that queer comrades all over the city are going to Williamsburg for the ultimate hang. With all-inclusive nightlife and the hippest fashionistas, it is no coincidence that Starf*cker Sundays at Sugarland is held right here in the heart of Brooklyn’s happening nabe. DJ Lesbian Van Halen spins tunes that will have you dancing well into the hours of Monday sunrise. The party starts at 10 and there’s no cover! There’s definitely no reason skip out on the good drinks, better tracks, and the best girls of Billyburg.

Rewind
Feeling nostalgic? Hankering for an ol’ school party where you can sing along with every song the DJ drops? Then groove your way over to a new queer party on Grand Ave in Fort Green, Brooklyn—Rewind. Hosted by Andrea and featuring the music of DJ Storm, this friendly gathering brings together a happening crowd. This blast from the past will keep you dancing and laughing in the coziest of clubs. For an easy transition into the work week, don’t miss this Sunday night bash.

Shescape’s 11th Annual Thanksgiving EVE Celebration
Shescape’s 11th annual Thanksgiving Eve Celebration is approaching and everyone is prepping their bellies for the imminent feast of the year. For the past decade, Shescape has brought you an eclectic array of beautiful women during the harvest season and this year will be no different. The fun takes place at The Park, a gorgeous space in the heart of Chelsea. The Park will be sprinkled with sexy dames who will be mingling, drinking and dancing to the sounds of DJ Stazi and DJ Francesca Magliano. Before you pig out on Thanksgiving Day, shake your bootie in praise of 11 years of lesbian camaraderie and the hordes of hot girls.

Cirrah
Aja, the ebony queen of Cirrah parties, graced us with her presence for an interview over delicious soul food and endless cups of coffee and tea. Cirrah, an exclusive Friday party held at Cattyshack every other month, received its namesake from the party priestess’ own vision. “I wanted to start a party where my patrons would be comfortable with themselves. Then I realized ‘Que Sera, Sera’ was my favorite song at the time,” confides Aja. “If you flip my last name it sort of came together as Cirrah. ‘You be You’ is our philosophy and tagline of the party.” These words would stay true to her diverse, queer and super energized partygoers.

The two floors of Cattyshack are crammed with women (and men) dancing to the hottest music of such DJs as DJ Mark James and DJ Storm. The majority of the Cirrah parties have a theme and the deeply talented go-go dancers making the ambiance of the party super sexy. The party first started in 2005 and with the help of Aja’s left hand woman, the cute-tastic Mo’Love, it has developed into an event in which “women and women of color have a place to party, rejoice and renew their souls.” The next Cirrah party, on Dec 28, will surely shine with glittered, winsome women and bangin’ beats.
