America’s hot girl is continuing to do “hot sh*t.”
Three-time Grammy winner Megan Thee Stallion is officially Broadway-bound, stepping into the role of Harold Zidler in Moulin Rouge! The Musical for a strictly limited eight-week engagement from March 24 through May 17, 2026 at the Al Hirschfled Theatre.
The Houston Hottie is making history as the first female-identifying performer to play Zidler—not just on Broadway, but in any productions of the Tony-winning musical worldwide.
Based on Baz Luhrmann’s lavish 2001 film, Moulin Rouge! is a glitter-drenched spectacle about love, ambition and art set inside a decadent Paris nightclub where Bohemians and aristocrats mix freely. At the center is Zidler, the larger-than-life impresario who keeps the club’s champagne flowing and its secrets tightly sealed. Traditionally played by a man, the role is all bravado, wit and theatrical excess—exactly the kind of high-camp, high-drama playground Megan can devour.
In a statement, Megan called joining the company “an absolute honor,” adding that Broadway demands a new level of discipline and storytelling and that she’s excited for the Hotties to see a different side of her.
Her run is part of the musical’s closing celebration, with the production set to end July 26, 2026 after a record breaking period. Megan takes over from Bob the Drag Queen, who wraps his engagement as Zidler on March 22.
Beyond stage, Meg’s resume is already stacked. She’s earned three Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits, three Grammys and became the first Black woman to appear on the cover of Forbes‘ 30 Under 30 issue. She’s been recognized for her advocacy work, including honors from The Trevor Project and Planned Parenthood, and has expanded into acting with roles in Dicks: The Musical and guest appearances on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Mean Girls (2024) and P-Valley. Watching her take on the host role during the MTV Video Music Awards, SNL and co-hosting The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, makes GO Staff excited to see what she’ll bring to the character.
The is a real hot girl theater. A global rap icon stepping into one of Broadway’s most flamboyant, male-originated roles at one of its most iconic spectacles is bigger than stunt casting—it’s revolutionary.
