Christmas 2023 might be over but we will be thinking about our favorite artists, Lizzo and Janelle Monáe, dressed as the cuntiest Grinches we’ve ever seen long into 2024. Both of the pop icons transformed into the indelible Mean One™ this holiday season, sending fans into a green frenzy.

Lizzo grinchified herself from head to toe in early December– complete with a prosthetic nose. The “Everyone Is Gay” singer showed off her green hair and makeup on Instagram, appropriately captioning the photos “🎄BINCHMAS🎄,” crediting her team for putting the look together: “Ib: @hayden_williams 🎄STYLED/CD: @reginaldreisman @matthewreismanPHOTO: @bonnienichoalds.”

Weeks later, Janelle Monáe dipped their toe whole entire being into the Grinch pool as well, showing off a full costume on Instagram with the caption “Since it’s almost Grinchmas time. A little smelly fact, while trying to get into character to record “haute” I channeled this cunty legend. Listen closely.” Not only did Monáe pay Christmas homage to Mr. Grinch, they channeled his character for one of their songs!

No disrespect to Jim Carrey’s Grinch (classic! camp! comical!), but I think I speak for all of the GO fam when I say we want a queer woman/NB celeb grinch NOW! Both Lizzo and Monáe’s costumes were queer over-the-top kitschy holiday extra-ness, and we will channel that energy into the new year…and maybe a new Grinch movie.
