Hunter Schafer Reveals She Filmed ‘Batsh*t Crazy’ Vampire Film for A24
This is exactly what the internet wants.
People on the internet have been begging to see Hunter Schafer play a vampire for years, and it looks like that wish is finally coming true.
While attending the Academy Museum Gala over the weekend, the Euphoria star fielded a question about whether there are any horror franchises she would like to join. Instead of giving a direct answer, she instead pivoted to a little info drop about a project she’s already filmed.
“Earlier this year, I just did a vampire movie,” she said. “I’m so excited about it. It might be my favorite thing I’ve ever filmed. ‘Cause it is batshit crazy. Me and my fellow actresses also got to act in sort of this batshit crazy way.”
When asked if she plays a vampire in the film, Schafer admitted that she wasn’t sure if she was allowed to give anything away—but actually revealed a little more in the process anyway.
“I don’t know if I’m allowed to say it because there’s literally nothing—right now, on IMDb, it’s called Untitled A24 Project. So I fear, I don’t know if I can give anything away,” she said. “I don’t want to get in trouble either, but I would tell you everything about it.”
The A24 project in question is actually the new film from The First Omen director Arkasha Stevenson, who is also credited with the script, alongside longtime writing partner Tim Smith. The log line for the film gives even less away than Schafer did, reading only, “Follows a bachelor party that spirals into terror.”
But we know more than enough to get invested in whatever vampire shenanigans are headed our way. In addition to Schafer, the stacked cast also includes Havana Rose Liu, Emma Corrin, Sophie Wilde, Josh Hutcherson, Caleb Landry Jones, and Fabien Frankel. Pair this with the years-long clamoring for Schafer to take on a vampiric role, and fans are seated.
Now we just need a title, a release date, and—in a fair and just world—confirmation of lesbianism, and we’ll be ready to go.
