2016 has been ripe with bad news, hard losses and tragic events, right up until the very end. But there was a lot to celebrate for queer women as well that should not go unmentioned as we close another year. This is GO’s list of the best in Lesbian/Bi Pop Culture.

Sarah Paulson. Sarah Paulson’s chameleon-like ability to sink into every role she plays was encapsulated by her double duty on this year’s “American Horror Story: Roanoke” while also shining as the oh-so-recognizable Marcia Clark in “American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson.” The role won her a Critic’s Choice Award, and the Television Critics Association Award for Individual Achievement in Drama and an Outstanding Actress award at the Emmys, where, in her acceptance speech, she thanked her partner, Holland Taylor, from the stage.
