G Flip has dropped their third studio album Dream Ride, a record they describe as an “‘80s Butch Springsteen fantasy.” Across ten tracks, the Melbourne-born, LA-based artist leans into big drums, bright theatrics, and stories rooted in their own queer experience.

Written and recorded with longtime collaborator Aidan Hogg, the album was shaped from more than 100 demos, whittled down to a sharp set that includes the singles “Disco Cowgirl,” “In Another Life,” and “Big Ol’ Hammer.”

“This album is inspired by the ‘80s. I’ve always resonated with ‘80s music, it embodies so much musicality – larger-than-life theatrics, bright colours, epic solos, huge drum tones, and a sonic landscape that feels like a movie,” G Flip shares. “I wanted to embody all of this on this record and create my own ‘80s world. I wanted to make songs that make you dance, sing, cry, f*ck, laugh, and enjoy on a long drive.”

One of the most striking additions is “Bed on Fire,” released with its own video. G Flip explains, “This song is all about the angst I grew up feeling going to Catholic school, having my first experience with a woman, and being like, ‘I’m bloody high off this love I’m having for someone that I shouldn’t.’ It’s saying, ‘Well, if I’m going to hell anyway, I’m going to set this place or the bed ablaze with my queerness.’”

“I hope this record feels familiar and original, old and new, nostalgic yet still present,” they say. “I hope you enjoy the Dream Ride.”

To mark the release, G Flip has announced a five-stop Australian tour in February 2026, with shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth. They’ll be joined by Canadian rockers The Beaches and Ayesha Madon. “I am so excited to be coming home to play some shows with my mates The Beaches and Ayesha Madon,” G Flip says. “The Dream Ride tour is going to be a bloody good time, can’t wait to see you there!”

Dream Ride is out now via AWAL Recordings.
