Everything You Need To Know About ‘The Ultimatum: Queer Love’ Season 2

‘The Ultimatum: Queer Love’ is bringing back the gay drama on June 25.

For those of you who love messy reality TV shows, you probably had your heart broken in 2023 by season one of The Ultimatum: Queer Love. If you’ve been yearning to watch some more toxic queer couples on a television screen, get your popcorn ready because The Ultimatum: Queer Love is back this summer.

Here’s everything you need to know about season two of the messy reality TV series premiering this Pride month.

What is The Ultimatum?

The show is a social experiment that challenges how many couples will get married if presented with ultimatums. Each season usually ranges from six to eight couples on the verge of marriage, where they have eight weeks to decide whether they want to get married or split. But wait, there’s more! Later in the season, the couples split up, choose a new partner from the group, and move in with them for three weeks in a trial marriage. After three weeks of marriage with a stranger, they move in with their original partners for a second marriage trial. At the end of the trials, they decide whether they want to split or commit to marriage with their partner. The series premiered its first-ever queer-centric spinoff in 2023.

Who’s in the cast of Season 2?

This season, which will again be hosted by JoAnna Garcia Swisher, features six couples deciding whether they want to marry or move on.

AJ & Britney

AJ, a 28-year-old administrative assistant/MC and Libra, received the ultimatum from Britney, a 27-year-old registered nurse, entrepreneur, and Virgo. The couple has been together for five years.

Ashley and Marita

Ashley, a 30-year-old Virgo and account manager, received the ultimatum from Marita, a 25-year-old Pisces and account executive. The couple has been together for three years.

Kyle and Bridget

Kyle, a 30-year-old Leo and graphic designer, gave the ultimatum to Bridget, a 28-year-old Aquarius who’s a writer and bartender. The couple has been together for two and a half years.

Haley and Pilar

Haley, a 29-year-old Taurus and senior food scientist, gave the ultimatum to Pilar, a 29-year-old Libra and physical therapist. The couple has been together for ten years.

Dayna and Magan

Dayna, a 25-year-old Gemini and relationship manager, gave the ultimatum to Magan, a 27-year-old Taurus and business manager. The couple has been together for a year and a half.

Marie and Mel

Marie, a 27-year-old Virgo, food truck owner, butler, and bartender, gave the ultimatum to Mel, a 27-year-old Taurus and food truck owner/chef. The couple has been together for four years.

Doomed Before They Even Start?

The concept of The Ultimatum: Queer Love is wild, and it’s honestly hard to believe couples go on this show hoping it’ll save their relationship. Whether the show has saved relationships is up for debate based on season one, and with the show designed to create conflict by adding new love interests, it’s highly unlikely you’ll leave as the same couple you were when you entered.

But despite these flaws, real or staged, we all love a ‘so bad it’s good’ reality tv show. Get ready for another season filled with drama, romance, and virgos!
