Enes Kanter Freedom Ejected From WNBA Game After Natasha Cloud Confrontation
The former NBA player has been vocal about opposition to transgender athletes competing in women’s sports.
Former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom was ejected from Sunday’s Chicago Sky-Indiana Fever game after Sky’s Natasha Cloud confronted him at his courtside seat.

After scoring a layup, Cloud used the Fever’s timeout to approach Freedom, who has become a talking head in the transgender issue swirling around the league. Videos showed Cloud approaching a standing Freedom while yelling and pointing at him before security and her teammates ushered her away. Freedom was then ejected from the building while fans boo’d and held up middle fingers to the former player.
Freedom told Fox News that Cloud initially made a comment after seeing him celebrate a Sophie Cunningham play. “Sophie Cunningham shot a three, and I put my hands up to celebrate,” Freedom said. “Literally, a couple possessions later, Natasha came back and started screaming and yelling and said, ‘She’s not gonna sleep with you.’ Freedom alleged that he then got up and said, “I’m just here to protect women, and that’s all.”
Freedom has been vocal about his opposition to transgender athletes competing in the league, even declaring himself for the WNBA draft in hopes of forcing the league’s hand in creating gender eligibility standards based on biological sex.

Natasha Cloud, a queer player in her 10th season, has always remained outspoken about political issues, especially within the league. Cloud took to Threads following the game writing, “To every trans kid/person, You are apart of MY community & tribe. You belong. You’re loved. You’re seen. You’re perfect as you are. & you will always be protected by me.”

Chicago Sky head coach also voiced his support for Cloud in the post-game conference saying, “I told her that we all embrace her as someone that protects our team and protects people that need to be protected. Tash is always going to stand on that, and we stand for Tash.”
As the pro-Sophie Cunningham, anti-trans rallies continuing to occur before every game, the topic of trans athletes in the WNBA is not going away soon (despite there being no trans athletes in the WNBA). As men continue to throw dildos on the court during games and now, as Freedom did, are showing up to harass players, it is becoming clear that they might be the only real threat to the league and its players.
