Ally Bross and Mack Fitzgerald, whose relationship grew out of the first season of NBC’s breakout travel competition Destination X, are engaged. The couple shared the news on December 23, marking a new chapter just five months after publicly confirming their romance.
Fitzgerald proposed during a trip to Thailand, staging the moment in front of a picturesque waterfall. In photos shared on Instagram, she gets down on one knee in the water before the two embrace. Bross later shows off a gorgeous, pear-shaped diamond engagement ring.

Fitzgerald announced the proposal writing, “we’re engaged!!!!!!!!! betta luck next time boys.” Bross shared her own post shortly after, captioning it, “fall in love again and again.. forever.”
Congratulations quickly poured in from fans and fellow cast members, including Destination X host Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who commented, “Well well well! Congrats kids! All the love, xojd.”
Bross replied with a behind-the-scenes detail. “thank you jeffrey!!!!!” she wrote. “she did the whole thing destination x style, i started blindfolded and she gave me a riddle on a walkie talkie.”
Although their story today is relationship goals, romance was not immediate. During filming, Bross was involved in a brief showmance with fellow contestant Shayne Cureton, and the two dated for a short period after production wrapped. Bross and Fitzgerald did not pursue anything romantic until later, when real life intervened.

Living just minutes apart near Austin, Texas, the two began spending more time together, and a friendship quietly turned into something deeper. In an Instagram reel shared on November 11, they reflected on how unlikely their connection once seemed. “Fifteen months ago, we met on reality TV. It was fine at first… but we ended up actively disliking each other. After the show, we became fast friends. By chance, we only lived eight minutes apart,” they explained. “A year ago, we took a trip to Finland as friends. Ten months ago we became girlfriends. Today, we launched a sapphic clothing brand (Sapphic Rebellion)!”
When they went public with their relationship in July, Bross framed it as an unexpected win. “Turns out I DID win Destination X. In a shocking twist, I found my soulmate. To the ends of the earth. I love you, Mack.”
Congratulations, and we look forward to some epic wedding photos.
