“I’m proudly voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz,” Cher announced on social media Friday, following a long list of high-profile celebrities who have pledged their vote to Harris.
The pop icon didn’t stop there. She also urged her followers to cast their votes at the polls this year.
“I have followed Kamala Harris since she was my U.S. senator. She fought for me then and she is fighting for all of us now,” she shared in a video. “I know they will fight to protect our rights and I’m so grateful to be able to make my voice count this year. I hope you will too.”
The Burlesque star also shared a link to I Will Vote, an online resource with voting information for your state, and to Kamala Harris’ website to volunteer with her campaign.

Earlier this year, Cher voiced her thoughts on President Joe Biden’s decision to step down from the presidential race.
“In my heart im tortured, Because I Don’t believe the Democrats Can win the Presidency With ‘Pres Biden’ ‘Joe’ whom I’ve Loved since we met in 2008,” she wrote on X in July. “ITS TIME 2 PASS THE BATON. TIME 4 DEMS 2 THINK ‘WAY’ OUTSIDE THE BOX.”
Cher’s recent post indicates she approves of who Biden chose to “pass the baton” to. And she isn’t the only one.
Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Aly & AJ, Ariana Grande, Barbara Streisand, Bruce Springsteen, Cardi B, Jon Bon Jovi, and more have publicly expressed their support for Harris.
Beyoncé allowed the candidate to use her song “Freedom” for her campaign ads. Stevie Wonder, John Legend, and Maren Morris shared their support by performing at the Democratic National Convention in August.
