Cameron Esposito And Wife Katy Nishimoto Welcome Their First Child: “We Are Over the Moon”

Actress and comedian Cameron Esposito and wife Katy Nishimoto have welcomed their first child, sharing the news in an Instagram announcement that introduced their newborn as “Yumi Young Esposito Nishimoto” and added, “WE ARE OVER THE MOON.”
The baby arrived over the holiday weekend on Nov. 27, weighing 5 pounds 5 ounces.

Messages of support quickly filled the comments section. Among them was a note from author Blair Imani, who wrote, “Congratulations! A whole standup special ONE WEEK before giving birth? Next level legend behavior!”
Esposito had been open about their pregnancy online in the months leading up to the birth. In August, they shared a set of baby bump photos with the caption, “Posting body photos bc I didn’t know if I could carry & feel like myself. So far mostly do. Katy and I are super jazzed and really nervous. My abdomen looks really different in the morning and at night; apparently that is part of it.”
Later in the fall, Esposito gave a shoutout to Nishimoto’s steady support with a story about a pregnancy craving. As they described it: “I’m six months pregnant and I’ll tell you some things that happened this week in my household. One particular night, I really wanted ice cream but I wasn’t even hungry so I told my wife, ‘I just need you to take me seriously and walk around the bedroom and mime that you’re going to the grocery store to pick me out ice cream just to see if that makes me feel better.’ And she did. And you know what? It did.”

Esposito continued performing standup throughout the pregnancy, including a show just one week before giving birth. Their most recent project, Four Pills on Dropout, has been another focus of their work this year.
