Ava Raine, the daughter of wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, has announced her departure from World Wrestling Entertainment after six years with the company, marking the end of a leadership role inside the powerful sports entertainment institution.

Raine, whose real name is Simone Garcia Johnson, confirmed on Instagram that she chose not to renew her WWE contract. “This past Tuesday was my last appearance on NXT and subsequently WWE. Thank you to all who have cheered, watched, and supported me through my journey. While my decision to not renew my contract was very difficult, it’s also new turning point in my life. It has been an honor and a privilege to be Ava.”

She joined WWE’s Performance Center in 2020 and made her on screen debut in late 2022 under the name Ava Raine. After a brief run as an in ring performer with the Schism faction, her role shifted. In January 2024, she was named General Manager of NXT, becoming the youngest person in company history to hold the position. Her exit was not addressed on the most recent episode of the show.

Raine’s departure apparently opened up the floodgates for her to express herself. She wrote on X: “And now that i can say this with my full chest, [middle finger emoji] ICE and that entire administration,” according to TMZ. Her account was deleted shortly after.

Raine has not announced her next professional move. WWE has also not commented on her departure or whether her exit will be addressed on NXT programming in the coming weeks.
