100 Women We Love: Jenni Chang and Lisa Dazols

We are thrilled to present the 2013 list of 100 Women We Love – Including…

Jenni Chang and Lisa Dazols are on the hunt for “Supergays”—extraordinary people who are stoking the fires of today’s queer movement. With full passion fueling their efforts, the partners left their San Francisco home in 2011 to tour the globe on their search. “I wanted to travel around the world with the woman that I love,” says Dazols. “We thought it would be fulfilling to have a project while we traveled to interact with local communities.” After launching a successful blog about the journey, they’re now producing the documentary Out & Around, which follows them through 15 countries. When they’re not jet-setting, Dazols is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in HIV services, and Chang works as a business manager for tech giant eBay. “Ever since returning home from our trip, I’ve been organizing an LGBT employee group at eBay,” says Chang. “I feel passionate about corporate-employee groups because we can not only ensure a welcoming work environment, but we can also leverage our power to effect change outside of the company.” The women first met in 2007 on the AIDS Lifecycle, a 500-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. “Before leaving on our trip, Lisa and I didn’t even know how to work a camera. We learned on the job to make our documentary,” says Chang. “There are no limitations when you have motivation!” The pair’s latest motivation comes with a pair of rings—they’ll tie the knot this summer. –NHM
