100 Women We Love: Class of 2009

Once again, we celebrate our favorite out and proud women. As difficult as it is to narrow it down to just 100, this year’s eclectic list includes artists, athletes, club promoters, community organizers, entertainers, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, politicians and plaintiffs, who are making a difference in our world and the world at large.

Shannon Wentworth

Shannon Wentworth, CEO & Founding Partner of Sweet, has combined her love of travel, her community and the environment with her years of marketing savvy to create the ultimate vacation experience for
lesbians. Sweet’s luxury vacations include parties and top-notch lesbian entertainment. They are also carbon neutral, with Sweet offsetting the pollution created by each guest’s air, land and sea travel. Sweet also offers opportunities to give back. For example, guests on Sweet’s debut Caribbean cruise this November have the option to volunteer beforehand in the departure city of New Orleans or at stops in Costa Maya, Belize City, Roatan and Cozumel.
