Sophia Bush Again Denies Allegations Of Affair With Ashlyn Harris
Bush clarified the timeline during a recent podcast appearance.
Sophia Bush is once again trying to put to rest online speculation that she and Ashlyn Harris had an affair before splitting from their respective partners.
The One Tree Hill alum addressed the longstanding rumors during a recent appearance on Call Her Daddy, where she was promoting her upcoming memoir.
While discussing falling in love with Harris and navigating becoming tabloid fodder, Bush was asked by host Alex Cooper to clarify the timeline of the relationship. At the time, Harris had recently split from ex-wife Ali Krieger, while Bush was navigating a similar split from ex-husband Grant Hughes, leading to ongoing speculation that there was “overlap” in the relationships.
“Two people who had filed for divorce and lived in separate residences from their exes went to dinner,” Bush said, specifically noting that there was no overlap.
Bush filed for divorce from Hughes in August 2023, while Harris filed for divorce from Krieger a month later. The latter didn’t become public knowledge until October—the same month Bush and Harris went on their first date.
This isn’t the first time the John Tucker Must Die star has refuted accusations of her relationship with Harris starting as an affair. She previously addressed the allegations directly in her 2024 coming out essay for Glamour, shutting down “the idea that I left my marriage based on some hysterical rendezvous—that, to be crystal-clear, never happened.”
Harris has similarly pushed back on the persistent speculation on multiple occasions, including a direct denial in November 2023.
Krieger, for her part, appeared to fuel speculation about Harris being unfaithful. In October 2023, she described herself as being in her “Beyoncé lemonade era,” referencing an infidelity-focused album. That and subsequent comments about the dissolution of her marriage to Harris have remained vague enough that onlookers have largely been left to fill in the blanks themselves, accurately or not.
While it’s clear Bush is ready for fans to stop pushing a rumor that she and Harris have consistently maintained to be false, only time will tell whether naysayers will eventually let their sordid beliefs rest. But the gossip mill hasn’t stopped the two from moving on with their lives; Bush and Harris recently shared that they married in a private ceremony in 2025.
Bush’s memoir, And I Will Tell You Mine: Notes from a Life in Progress, is set to be released October 27.
