Candace Owens Denies That She’s a Lesbian After Intense Accusations Go Viral
he rightwing in-fighting is picking up over a viral conspiracy theory.
Candace Owens is once again reminding everyone that she isn’t a lesbian.
The right-wing commentator has found herself at the center of an increasingly viral conspiracy theory alleging that she previously had profiles on dating sites seeking out women in her college years. Although the claims themselves read like something pulled from the depths of Reddit, rather than ignoring them, Owens opted to draw even more attention by refuting them via social media and her YouTube channel.
“Can confirm that of everything they’ve made up, this is the most deranged,” she wrote on X this week. “With Zionists it always has to be something crass and pornographic.”
The rumors took off after an X user posted a sprawling thread claiming that data from old leaks linked dating profiles from nearly two decades ago to Owens through email addresses, usernames, and other identifying information. Some of the profiles labeled Owens as bisexual and explicitly seeking out encounters with women. The user, @EsoShaggy, also claimed that one account was accessed as recently as 2022, after Owens married George Farmer.
It’s important to note that none of this has been independently verified. Still, that hasn’t stopped rightwingers from latching onto the claims, including Laura Loomer and Nick Fuentes.
In addition to responding on X, Owens also suggested during a livestream that an old YouTube account referenced as part of the supposed evidence had been hacked.
There is, of course, a long and annoying tradition of people responding to public homophobia by speculating that the person responsible must secretly be gay themselves. Owens has certainly spoken out against LGBTQ+ people and our rights enough over the years that it would be extremely hypocritical if it turns out she’s not as heterosexual as she claims.
But for the time being, Owens is sticking to her story, the rightwing in-fighting rages on, and everyone else is just watching the train wreck.
