‘The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula’ Season 7 Sets Return Date as Series Celebrates 10 Years

It simply wouldn’t be queer spooky season without The Boulet Brothers gracing (and debasing) our screens as the horror hostesses with the most on their hit reality competition series, The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula. After what has felt like a millennium of waiting, hoping and enduring too many rumors to count, we finally know that the Boulets are returning — along with their wicked ways, a cast of “brilliantly unhinged and cutting-edge underground artists” and a new crop of beloved guest judges — on Tuesday, Oct. 27, on Shudder.

And there’s plenty to celebrate this time around. Not only does this mark the premiere of Dragula’s seventh season, but it also marks the series’ 10th anniversary. The show debuted on Halloween in 2016, making this an incredible milestone for a series that has continued to grow in scope, popularity and influence. Not to mention depravity (complimentary).

“Ten years ago, we opened the gates to our world without a roadmap, a television network or any idea of how far this strange underground experiment would take us. Today, Dragula has become an internationally recognized and Emmy-nominated franchise, but its heartbeat remains the same: fearless artists, disruptive ideas and a refusal to play it safe,” said the Boulet Brothers.

This season will pay homage to the grimy, tactile VHS horror of the 1980s and ’90s, with the Boulets bringing the era to life through cinematic introductions and interstitials that celebrate some of the genre’s most iconic films.

Dragula is now a four-time Emmy-nominated series and has earned the Critics Choice Association’s Reality TV Award at the third annual Celebration of LGBTQ+ Cinema & Television in 2026. The Boulets have also been recognized for their work creating and hosting the series, earning three GLAAD Media Award nominations and two Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards. The series also remains Shudder’s most popular.

And it shows.

This time around, the Boulets will be joined by an incredible lineup of guest judges, including Rose McGowan, Doug Jones, David Dastmalchian, Harvey Guillén, Rachel True, Darren Stein, Lloyd Kaufman, Brandon Rogers, James A. Janisse, Chelsea Rebecca, Yvie Oddly and Lauren LaVera, as well as former Dragula winners Landon Cider, Dahli and Asia Consent.

They’ll have the enviable task of judging the cast as they take on what promises to be “the craziest elimination challenges in 10 years of the show.” And considering previous seasons have featured exterminations involving piercing, tattoos, bungee jumping off a bridge, simulated drowning and very real electroshocks, that’s saying something.

We cast raw, hungry artists who were completely unprepared for what was waiting for them, creating a season that feels unpredictable, cinematic and alive in a way that takes us back to the beginning.”
