By now, you’ve probably already cried happy gay tears for celesbian power couple Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris, who recently adopted a baby girl. Sloane Phillips, born February 12th, was introduced via Instagram. In a message addressed to the baby’s birth mom, the couple writes, “We promise Sloane will be loved every single day by us, our friends and our family.” The couple also promises “to give her the tools to live a happy, successful life of inclusivity and support,” and “encourage her to follow her dreams no matter how big or small.” Krieger and Harris, who are both members of the Orlando Pride and the Women’s National Team (WNT), married in 2019 after dating for 10 years.
But they aren’t the only sapphic soccer stars gushing over their baby girl. On Sunday, the U.S. women’s national soccer team faced off against Brazil in Orlando, Florida. Megan Rapinoe, another one of our favorite soccer superstars, scored a goal and chose to honor Krieger and Harris’ happy announcement. After scoring, she ran to the camera and celebrated by rocking her arms as if she were holding a baby– a sweet shout-out to Sloane!
