‘Jeopardy!’ Champion Amy Schneider Announces Engagement To Girlfriend

“I couldn’t be happier or more proud to spend my life with the very best person in the entire world,” Schneider wrote on Twitter.

Having the second-longest consecutive winning streak in “Jeopardy!” history isn’t the only thing Amy Schneider will be celebrating in 2022: the “Jeopardy!” champion just got engaged!

Schneider shared the news on Twitter Thursday. “I have an announcement: Genevieve is no longer my girlfriend … she’s my fiancée!” Schneider wrote. “I couldn’t be happier or more proud to spend my life with the very best person in the entire world.”

The post was accompanied by a photograph of the couple’s overlapping left hands, each with an engagement ring on the left ring finger.

Schneider made history recently with her record-breaking run on the popular television trivia show. She clocked 40 consecutive wins, making her second-only in total consecutive wins to Ken Jennings. She earned over one million dollars during her run, making her the highest-earning woman in the show’s history.

Throughout her run on “Jeopardy!,” Schneider, an engineer from California, would wear a string of pearls gifted to her by her now fiancée. In an interview with USA Today, Schneider said that wearing the pearls was a way of keeping Genevieve close while filming the show. “It was the first significant time I’d spent apart from her since we’d started dating,” she said. “And so having that was just nice, just sort of comforting reminder that … she was at home waiting for me.”

Now, she has an engagement ring to match.
