CRUX and BIPOC Climb Nights are excited to come together once again for a day of community and climbing in Highbridge Park! This event is open to both new and experienced climbers!

Come celebrate the intersectionality of the QTBIPOC climbing community, as well as, the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC climbing communities at large! This is a BLOCK PARTY! That means we encourage this event to not only be a time to climb, but a time to hang out and make some friends while having a blast. Bring snacks! Bring corn hole! Bring a good playlist! Bring lots of friends! All-in-all, a good time will be had!

While these two groups were formed out of a need to have a dedicated safe space for our individual communities, we see and recognize the beauty in the intersectionality of the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC climbing communities and are excited to bring both of our communities together in one place to hang out and send! In maintaining the integrity of the spaces our groups create, we ask that folks attending are cognisant that this is a space for QTBIPOC climbers and those who identify as either LGBTQ+ or BIPOC.

The New York City Climbing Collective will also be partnering with us for this event to provide climbing shoes for anyone who need some.

Registration for this event is *not* required, however, it’s highly encouraged to help us prepare a super killer block party!

Run of Show:

– 2-2:15 – Welcome

– 2:15 – 2:30 – Ice breaker intro to both groups

– 2:30 – 2:45 – Intro to outdoor bouldering

– 2:45-5pm – Party time!

How to get there:

Highbridge Park: The boulder is between 166th and 165th street just east of Edgecombe Avenue. The 168th Street station for the A/C/1 train will be the closest public transportation stops.

Other:

Climbing is an inherently risky sport. While a bouldering orientation and crash pads are meant to mitigate risk, it does not mean accidents won’t happen. Climbing during this event is at your own risk. A first aid kit will be on hand at the event.

In the event of rain, this event will be rescheduled at a later date.
