This Hispanic Heritage Month, DCC is screening Chavela, the acclaimed 2017 documentary about the life of Chavela Vargas, the legendary Costa Rican-Mexican singer known for her rendition of Mexican rancheras, “a voice that redefined notions of beauty, and an attitude that brashly bent gender roles.”
