Queens Underground 718 Presents the 1st Ever International Black History Month Film Festival on February 22, 2020.  Expanding on Categories and Genres, Filmmakers, Performers (singers, rappers, musicians, poets, and dancers), and small businesses/entrepreneurs; anyone from ages 10 years and up are submitting projects by the final deadline date of January 31st, 2020.  Submissions for the “Past, Present, and Future” are coming in from around the world and will be Screened at The famed and glamorous Jamaica Performing Arts Center in downtown Jamaica, NY.  With Live Performances, February 22, 2020 will be an exciting and vibrant show of talent and collaboration with Artists, Small Businesses and Local Organizations.  Vendors, Food and Dessert will complete the evening- a celebratory Red Carpet Night for ages 10 yrs. and up in the Heart of Jamaica, Queens, NY. Confident that the February Film Festival will also have over 100 international submissions and a packed house reminiscent of the October 2019 4-Day Festival, Queens Underground is finally able to make a difference.

This non-profit Organization, founded by a former Special Education Teacher and Administrator, places the Mother and Son duo, both graduates of art schools,  in a position to bring all genres of Creative Arts and Entrepreneurial Categories together to network with each other, Community Groups (Greater Jamaica Merchants Association, Jamaica BID, Cultural Collaborative Jamaica, etc.), Leaders (Senator Leroy Comrie, Council Members Adams, Miller and Richards, etc.), Review Committee (including Kavia, Mikey Jay, KJ The Revolution, Daniele Overton & B. Elise) and Residents across the tri-state area, which has been sorely missing in Jamaica, Queens, NY; the once most legendary section of Queens.

To ensure maximum exposure for Creatives, Queens Underground also hosts a monthly show on QPTV where the community can learn more about filmmakers, artists, entrepreneurs, community groups and local events.
