Popular TikTok couple, Sufi Malik and Anjali Chakra, have called it quits. The Indian and Pakistani couple from New York and San Francisco had been together for five years and were engaged to be married. Fans were shocked and heartbroken to learn that the wedding was recently called off due to “infidelity committed by Sufi.”
Anjali broke the news in an Instagram post yesterday, writing, “This may come as a shock, but our journey is shifting. We have decided to call off our wedding and end our relationship due to infidelity committed by Sufi.”

She asked that their followers show kindness towards both of the influencers during this time, clarifying that the breakup was a mutual and “difficult decision.”
On her own Instagram page, Sufi posted a statement that read, “I made an unrecognisable mistake of betrayal by cheating on her a few weeks before our wedding. I’ve hurt her tremendously, beyond my understanding. I am owning up to my mistake and will continue to do so.”

Hundreds of thousands of fans have followed their love story since 2019 when the pair shot to internet fame after a photo of them in traditional dress went viral.

The couple told Business Insider at the time, “People message us so often to say that they’re so happy they found us because they didn’t realise that there were any other queer South Asian people out there.”
