UK’s Gay Ambassador To U.S. Axed Over Epstein – More ‘Very Embarrassing’ Details On The Way

The Brits just might be earning a reputation as a wee bit more bold than some U.S. government counterparts when it comes to sacking associates of pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Even Queen Liz had the decency to scrub Prince Andrew’s military and HRH titles, and while money never could have made up for the trauma she experienced, millions of monarchy dollars found their way to Andrew’s prey, the late Virginia Giuffre.
This week, the UK Prime Minister fired the British ambassador to the U.S., Peter Mandelson, over ties to Jeffrey Epstein. The association became impossible to ignore after the U.S. House Oversight Committee released images from the Epstein “birthday book” on Monday.
Photos and a 10-page letter penned by Mandelson to Epstein were found within the 238-page compilation. “Once upon a time, an intelligent, sharp-witted man they call ‘mysterious’ parachuted into my life,” reads one. The British ambassador wrote of spending “many hours just waiting for him to turn up,” meeting his “interesting” friends, and wrote of how Epstein was known for “taking you by surprise…to one of his glorious homes,” words alongside a pic of a tropical island.
However, the tribute making the most rounds is a handwritten note on a photo with Mandelson lounging in a robe with the predator. “Wherever he is in the world, he remains my best pal,” the scrawl reads.

After the “birthday book” news broke, Mandelson said in a Harry Cole Saves the West podcast, that he “never sought, nor did [Epstein] offer” any introductions to women in the same way as he had done for others, “perhaps it’s because I’m a gay man.”
There’s just no way out of this mess for him, but he’s been trying. In the Harry Cole’s interview, the diplomat said that Epstein was a “charismatic criminal liar”, and that he regretted continuing their association “far longer than I should have.”
But then there’s the emails. The ambassador is also busted for disturbing notes he sent Epstein following charges around Epstein’s solicitation of minors. According to The Guardian, Mandelson told Epstein that he should “fight for early release” and wrote: “Your friends stay with you and love you.”
“I think the world of you and I feel hopeless and furious about what has happened,” he reportedly wrote.
Mandelson now likens the weight of his regret to “an albatross” around his neck. And he has said that more “very embarrassing” details of the friendship will come out.
Honestly, it’s hard to imagine something more embarrassing than the world knowing that you’ve described an Epstein home as “yum yum.”
