Lauren Chan has had quite the year. After making history as the first out lesbian to appear solo on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue, the model and former Glamour fashion editor just marked another major milestone by marrying her partner, director Hayley Kosan.

The couple announced the news on Instagram Monday, sharing a carousel of photos and videos from their city hall wedding set to River Ashwood’s “Starlight Code.” The post was captioned “MRS & MRS,” marking about seven months since the pair revealed their engagement in March.

Chan wore an all-white look featuring a strapless lace top, satin wide-leg trousers, and a tulle veil. Kosan wore a black corset-style tank and tailored trousers. Both outfits were custom-made by designer DON NICÓ.

The photos showed the couple walking through the city, sharing kisses under the building’s arches, and posing in a Subway entrance. Fellow models and friends filled the comments section with support. “Omg CONGRATULATIONS,” wrote SI model Katie Austin. Yumi Nu added, “🥹🥹🥹 crying.” Chan replied, “love you :)))) you next!!”

The marriage marks another milestone in Chan’s public journey toward living openly. In 2023, the Canadian model wrote about coming out in an essay for Vogue, stating that her queerness “had always lived in [her] body—even before [she] had language for it.” She later expanded on that story in a 2025 Sports Illustrated essay titled “How I Came Out, Got Divorced, and Landed in SI Swimsuit.”

Speaking to The Kit in June, Chan described Kosan as “the salve that soothed everything challenging about coming out and starting over.”

Chan has been featured in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue three times, traveling everywhere from the Dominican Republic to Bermuda for her shoots. When her 2025 cover dropped, she told the magazine, “I’m the first out lesbian on the cover—with her own cover. And how much that means to me makes that surprise feel so overwhelming.”

Congrats to the happy couple!
