When US Women’s National Team icon Tobin Heath announced her retirement from the game, she was immediately listed as eligible on the Player Ballot for the National Soccer Hall of Fame. In her first year of eligibility, Heath has officially been chosen as an inductee and will be inducted on May 1, 2026.
Heath was surprised with the Hall of Fame news by her first and biggest fan, her mom. In a Q&A segment on The RE-CAP Show, the podcast Heath co-hosts with her former teammate and now wife Christen Press, Press read a question from “Cindy in New Jersey” that asked, “How does it feel to be inducted into the Hall of Fame on your first year of eligibility?” In walked Cindy from New Jersey, Heath’s mom, with flowers in hand and tears in her eyes. Any USWNT fan will surely weep at the sweet moment fit for a remarkable career.
With an unbelievable level of skill and finesse, Heath quickly became a star of the USWNT. In her very first appearance representing the US, Heath nutmegged not one but two Canadian players, immediately cementing herself as a wizard on the pitch. Since then, Heath has won two Olympic gold medals, two World Cups, and two NWSL National Championships.

Despite not having worn the US crest since 2021 and not having played professionally since 2022 due to a series of injuries, Heath has been busy. Since launching RE-INC, a sports media brand, with Press, the two have started their hugely successful soccer podcast and opened their historically very private lives to soccer fans globally. Heath and Press revealed, after years of speculation about #preath during their time together on the USWNT, that they had in fact been in a relationship and had very quietly tied the knot. Heath also became the very first woman to feature as a technical study group expert for FIFA’s Club World Cup.
