“I’m a parent in the Davis Unified School District and I’m here today to talk about the policies you have for the locker rooms in the junior high schools,” Beth Bourne said at a podium on Sept. 18th at a Board meeting in Davis, CA. “Right now we require our students to undress for PE class, so I’m just going to give you an idea what that looks like when I undress.”
Thus began a strip stunt by the chair of Yolo County’s Moms for Liberty.

In a video of the meeting, Bourne can be seen taking off her top, as board attendees exchange incredulous glances.
“So right now, this school district is saying that depending on a child’s transgender identity, that they can pick which bathroom they want. Right now we have children self-identifying into different bathrooms, just based on—”
“No, you cannot,” a board attendee interrupted, before Bourne fully disrobed. “I have my bathing suit on,” she countered. The gavel came down.
“You are disrupting a meeting,” the School District Superintendent said. “We are in recess.”
Beth Bourne’s legal right to disrobe while carrying on about teens undressing in PE class might best be left to legal experts; as for what constitutes disruption:
According to the Sacramento Bee, “In cases where that conduct disrupts the normal course of business, the board chairperson may pause the meeting and request that those disrupting the meeting leave chambers,” district spokesperson Maria Clayton said in a statement on Friday.
This isn’t the first time Bourne has tried to garner attention. Last year, a video went viral in which she caused a scene at a Hawaiian resort after spotting a drag performer in the lobby. “I’m not having my child see a man pretending to be a woman,” she ranted, waving her camera at drag artist, Marina Del Rey, who had been invited by management (along with several others) to shoot a video promotion. A testament to Marina Del Rey’s grace, she maintained composure in the face of Bourne’s tirade about “boys having their penises cut off and wearing make-up.”

To be clear, Beth Bourne’s antics are not harmless.
In 2023, the Davis Joint Unified School District filed a temporary restraining order against Bourne, after she reportedly publicly posted pictures of Davis high school classrooms that had Pride flags; per local ABC reporting, she repeatedly harassed teachers who supported LGBTQIA+ students, posting names, school and room numbers on social media. According to Anoosh Jorjorian, Director of Yolo Rainbow Families, “In the wake of this exposure, bomb threats were made against some of those teachers who were awakened at 3 a.m. by police to search their houses out of concern for their lives.”
For anyone impacted by attempts to incite anger, or terrorize you in any way, Marina Del Rey shared insights from her own experience with Bourne that left her shaken and saddened – extending gratitude to those who had shown compassion and sharing this message: “Love more on those beside you. Love on those who are turned away by their own.”
