Prenell Rousseau, the man who stalked Billie Eilish and her family in 2020, was struck and killed by a train in the village of Westbury, New York on Wednesday, March 25. According to officials, at around 5:38 a.m., Rousseau had been jogging “on or near” the tracks when he was hit by a Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) train.
Rousseau, 30, of Farmingville, had started stalking the Grammy-winning artist during the pandemic in 2020 at her family’s home in Los Angeles. The first time he showed up, he repeatedly rang the doorbell and asked the singer’s father through the surveillance camera if she was home. Eilish’s father told him that he had the wrong house. Undeterred, he came back that night, even after the family secured a private security presence.
“While we waited for security, Mr. Rousseau remained on our porch, sat down and began to read a book while also continuing to engage in a periodic monologue,” Eilish said in court documents. “My father repeatedly asked him to leave, but he refused.”

Eilish also noted that Rousseau had exhibited “erratic behavior.” The family was also afraid because he was not wearing a mask during five of his visits and touched the door knob and bell without gloves. From May 4-5, Rousseau showed up seven times before being arrested for trespassing and sent to New York where a temporary restraining order was filed.
Ultimately, Eilish was able to get a three-year restraining order against him.
