JoJo Siwa is always looking to turn heads, but at this point, she doesn’t even have to try. In her most recent cover story with LADYGUNN, JoJo Siwa sports a bedazzled male chest plate and thong with what can only be described as a bulge attached to it made by queer icon Kyle Farmery of Sparkyle Studios.
“I learned at a very young age that in the public eye, any attention is attention…whether it be good attention or just attention,” JoJo said in the interview with LADYGUNN. “I just signed with new management, and they’re great, amazing people. They were like, alright, we got to get people to rally around you and really start to like you. And I was like, oh no, that’s not the point.”
You can say what you want about her and her dance and singing talents, but her true talent is getting people to watch her. It turns out, she doesn’t if you like her care either — as long as you’re paying attention.
“My favorite thing to do on this earth is to entertain and to make people smile and laugh, whether or not they are laughing with me or laughing at me,” JoJo says. “Obviously, no one likes being hated, but I enjoy being entertaining, and that is how people are entertained.”
But even with all this intended attention, how does JoJo handle being gawked at wherever she goes? At 21 years old, having the world watching and ridiculing your every move has got to be soul-crushing, but JoJo says she’s found a way to cope.
“I definitely disassociate well. It’s a special talent for sure,” JoJo told LADYGUNN. “So whatever moment I’m in, I’m in it for that moment. Once it’s done, though, I’ll be out. You know what I mean? That’s the kind of a skill that I’ve learned over the years and has helped me.”
True to form, JoJo was upfront with what she wanted to accomplish with her shoot for LADYGUNN.
“We’re here at [New York] Fashion Week, even this with LADYGUNN; I was like, I am down, but we have to go somewhere with it,” JoJo said. “We can’t just do a cool photo shoot and hope for the best. It has to be like, what the fuck is she wearing now? You know what I mean? It has to be what is the next Halloween costume.”
