‘But I’m a Cheerleader’ Reunion, Tanner Adell Comes Out, Zolita Chaotic Queer Music Video, And Star-Studded Trans Fashion Show

Your entertainment roundup of the week.
But I’m a Cheerleader Cast Reunite on Red Carpet
Natasha Lyonne acting gay? Oh, I’m sure. Over the weekend at the PaleyFest premiere of season 2 of Poker Face, cast members of the 1999 cult gay classic reunited. Melanie Lynskey, Clea Duvall, and Natasha Lyonne gagged fans of the film as they posed for photos with bright grins.
Lyonne and Duvall, who have stayed friends over the years and have continued to work together, shared a quick kiss on the carpet (hard to tell if it was on purpose or a cheek kiss gone rogue) and sent fans into a frenzy. Lyonne has been dodging gay rumors for decades at this point but just can’t help acting a little queer from time to time.
Poker Face’s second season, which comes to Peacock on May 8, will feature Lynskey in a guest role and might possibly star Duvall in her previous season’s role. Other queer icons Cynthia Erivo and Orange is the New Black’s Taylor Schilling, will also be joining the show in guest roles.
Country Star Tanner Adell Comes Out as Pansexual
On the carpet of the Billboard Women in Music Awards, Tanner Adell, the country star known for her feature on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter record, confirmed her pansexuality to Out. Adell has hinted at her sexuality in her music through songs like “Strawberry Crush,” which is a summery bop about crushing on a girl.
“It’s funny when people ask me my sexual orientation, but I feel like you should be able to hear that in my music,” she told Out. “There’s more of that coming.” Adell, who recently performed her hit “Buckle Bunny” at the GLAAD Awards, says she loves the support she’s received from queer fans. “When I have shows, the gays bring it,” she said. “The gays bring it every time. There’s so many assless chaps, and that’s exactly that’s exactly what I dreamed of, you know?” With artists like Adell and even Chappell Roan with “The Giver,” the country world is certainly getting a lot gayer.
Zolita Releases Steamiest Music Video Yet
A follow-up to her popular 2021 trilogy of music videos starring queer social media star Tatiana Rigsby, Zolita has released her “steamiest messiest sapphic vid yet” for her song “Hypocrite”. While the trilogy took us through the high school love, college breakup, and eventual reunion of Zolita and Rigsby’s characters, the video for the Queen of Hearts deluxe track picks up from after another messy breakup.
Directed, written, produced, and edited all by Zolita, the cinematic video follows her character through a series of rebound hookups and captures her hypocrisy when her character learns her ex has also been with people since the two parted ways. “I’ve been getting intimate with hot girls on the internet / got no regrets / but I confess / if you’re doing half the shit that I’ve been doing in my bed / I’d want you dead,” Zolita sings.
Said hot girls on the internet are played by queer social media stars Scarlette Leithold, Ciaffy, Madeline Ford, Vanessa Papa, Kyra Green and Paige Mcgarvin. The video’s peak L World level of drama is reached when Rigsby and Zolita’s characters finally face each other and tensely reveal what they’ve each been up to since breaking up. What does this confrontation bring? Guess you’ll just have to watch to find out the exciting end to this story.
