Brandi Carlile Makes Her ‘Saturday Night Live’ Debut This Weekend

October 22, 2021

"Manifest it!"

Tomorrow’s episode “Saturday Night Live” will feature a musical performance by Brandi Carlile, marking the singer’s first appearance on the iconic NBC show.

Carlile will appear as the musical guest in tomorrow’s episode, which will be hosted by Jason Sudekis. She appears with Sudekis and “SNL” players Chloe Fineman and Alex Moffat in a promo ad for the episode featured this week, telling Sudekis that he is “the best host ever” after he declares it’s “positive affirmation time.”

“You’re the best musical guest ever,” Sudekis replies, before commanding that the quartet “manifest” the positivity.

Carlile’s “SNL” gig follows the release of her latest album, “In These Silent Days,” which dropped on October 1. Although she has long been a favorite to women-loving-women everywhere, her previous album, “By the Way, I Forgive You,” earned her both critical acclaim and commercial success. It won a Grammy for Best Americana Album in 2019 and was also nominated for Album of the Year.

Her memoir, “Broken Horses,” released earlier this year, was a New York Times nonfiction bestseller

The singer/songwriter announced her upcoming “SNL” appearance on Twitter earlier this year. “I’ve been waiting my whole life to make this announcement! Live from New York, it’s Saturday night!” Carlile wrote, adding, “Can you even believe we get to be on the same night as the wonderful @jasonsudeikis? Can’t wait to hug Ted Lasso’s neck!!”

She took to Twitter again yesterday, reminding fans of the upcoming episode in a tweet that featured the promo ad, along with the caption, “Manifest it!”
