Deadline reports that Monáe will star in “De La Resistance,” a drama that focuses on Baker’s career as a performer and her work as a spy for the Allies in German-occupied France during the Second World War.
“I’ve been playing a version of some parts of me, but now I’m owning all of me,” Monáe said. “I had to own all of me to really be able to talk about it publicly.”
