The Lavender Scare is a variety comedy show and an irreverent exploration of LGBTQIA+ history hosted by Gabe González. Each show features 4 guest comedians alongside interactive audience games focused on the messiest and most chaotic moments in queer history, with expertly crafted questions designed to induce a moral panic. If you’ve ever asked yourself “How many lesbians have commited a crime in space?” or “Why did that civil rights icon have to adopt his boyfriend?” or “When did Crisco become a gay thing?” then this is a show for you. And if you haven’t, you should be, so this is a show for you.

Games include “Stonewalled” (a multiple choice quiz where contestants must throw a cardboard brick at the host instead of using a buzzer to answer the question) and “Queer Pressure” (a fill in the black game with a Jeopardy-style music break featuring gay soundscapes).
