NYC’s longest running and most ridiculously earnest hilariously sad and sadly hilarious multi-venue themed LGBTQ+ storytelling show

You’ve heard about Drag Story Hour (formerly Drag Queen Story Hour) from folks in the community, the media and your friendly neighborhood radical librarian. In this special event, co-hosted by Drag Story Hour NYC, we’ll hear about how this organization has impacted the lives of everyday New Yorkers, including parents, educators, and the drag artists who read to kids.

All proceeds from this special event go to support Drag Story Hour NYC’s free and subsidized programs in NYC public schools!

About the collaborator: Drag Story Hour NYC (formerly Drag Queen Story Hour NYC) produces storytelling and creative arts programming for kids of all ages, presented by local drag artists, at libraries, schools, and other community spaces in all five boroughs of NYC, and virtually. Through fun and fabulous educational experiences, DSH celebrates gender diversity and all forms of difference to build empathy and give kids the confidence to express themselves however they feel comfortable.

Queer Memoir is NYC’s longest running and most ridiculously earnest multi-venue themed LGBT storytelling show and an event chosen as a Obama White House Champion of Change nominee.

Queer Memoir is an opportunity to give voice to our collective queer experiences, preserve and document our complex queer history and celebrate the ritual and community-building value of storytelling. And have fun of course. We have a lot of fun!

Queer Memoir celebrates the storyteller in all of us; every month we join together some of NYC’s best known performers and folks who have never been on a stage in their lives. We provide coaching, workshops, support and whatever storytellers need to get on stage- if you have a story to tell please get in touch.
