Juneteenth Celebration

June 19 @ 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm EDT

Free

Join Emmy Award Winning Tyrik Washington and NYC Commission on Racial Equity for a Celebration of Juneteenth with free food, live music, and a special presentation on land and reparations.

Together, we will celebrate the announcement of freedom reaching enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865.

Conversations with elected officials including Councilmember Crystal Hudson and New York State Senator Jabari Brisport about their respective legislative packages supporting the movement will part of the program!

Let’s come together and enjoy music and special discussion on land and reparations, truth, healing, and reconciliation.

For accessibility requests, please email AccessCORE@core.nyc.gov a minimum of a week before the event.
