Yes, it’s actually called “Happy Beginnings” and also dubbed a “#1 Variety Show.” No, it’s not racist – because comedian Wang Newton himself named it so. Aren’t there unspoken rules to this in America? [insert “LOL”]. Cheeky persona Wang Newton – the irreverent emcee and WANG TV webseries host – is to blame for a truly entertaining “gaysian-flared” variety show of drag, burlesque, circus, and comedic talents. So go ahead… blame it on the Wang.
“I am a Wang Newton fan now. I was laughing, amazed, turned on, and entertained; all in one show.” – Julian, actual first time attendee at last Happy Beginnings
“Wang Newton is an enigma in a mystery with wrapped breasts in a riddle” – Terence L., #1 Fan
Wang is a high-energy comedian sporting a Taiwan-meets-Vegas style and rumored to be an avid panty connoisseur. His gender plus culture bending nuances contribute to a space where anything goes and all diversity is welcome. The Happy Beginnings #1 Variety Show aims to pair the shenanigans of Wang Newton with the best of New York City performers and traveling guests. Bookings tend to be reflective of the Wang spirit: a hearty dollop of Asian American talent with dashes of international flavor and the likelihood of some… mystery meat. True to brand, Wang is a curator of all things #1:
