Celebrate Brooklyn Pride at Ginger’s

🏳️‍🌈 Brooklyn Pride is fast approaching and it’s our 25th year operating and celebrating in Park Slope! In accordance with this year’s theme “Rooted In Pride”, we want to make mention of the queer history of our address 363 5th Ave, where the gay bar, Carrie Nation, stood before Ginger’s in the 90’s and early 00’s.

As remarked by @cheemobile in the 2018 Punch article, “Everything Felt Cursed After Carrie Nation Closed” (see article link in bio), “the people who came to play pool – often but not always lesbians – kept to themselves, while the rest of us occupied the front”, not too much of what we do at 363 5th Ave has changed in 40+ years. Cheers to our queer roots digging deeper for many years to come. 🪴💗🌈
