Events
The staff of GO is thrilled to reactivate our live events calendar and weekly party roundups as we continue to serve our community by presenting the best in arts, entertainment, and nightlife event listings for our readers. However, especially given the Omicron variant, we adamantly recommend that all who consider venturing out to any public event continue to intelligently and carefully assess any risks involved in attending such events. GO recommends regularly checking CDC guidelines and updates regarding Covid-19 and strongly encourages our readers to vet any venue or event’s Covid-19 protocols before attending. There is nothing we care more about than the safety and health of our beautiful community members and the safety and health of their friends and loved ones. Please join us by continuing to do your part in stopping the spread of this virus.
With love, GO.

Welcome to Artists For Mutual Aid’s Valentine’s Day Fundraiser! We are a volunteer-run collective of NYC activists that host art markets that fundraise for mutual aid groups and other local social justice efforts. Celebrate your love for community with a night of food, art, music, burlesque, mutual aid, and more!
The event will feature local NYC artists selling art prints, ceramics, soaps, jewelry, and edibles. We will also have a tattoo, henna, and portrait artist ready to provide you with live art to take home! And finally, performers of music, dance, burlesque, spoken word, and more.
There is a Silent Auction where you can bid on specific works of art. The auction will go live online a week before the event. The pieces will also be live at Mayday Space for the final round of bidding. Winners will be chosen at the event. Follow us on Instagram @artistsformutualaidnyc to keep updated.
BK Rot & Divine Explosion Arts Program (DEAP)
@bk_rot is NYC’s first community-supported, bike-powered, fossil fuel-free food waste hauling and composting service. Its staff is majority young people of color who haul residential and commercial organic waste and transform it into high-quality compost. Their operations provide accessible jobs and sustained professional development for emerging environmental leaders.
What We’re Funding: They need new bikes, and a bike shed. Historically they have used second-hand bikes, which fall apart faster with daily use and no proper shelter from the weather.
Miss Princess’s Divine Explosion Art Program, aka DEAP (@divineexplosion). DEAP is a Brownsville, Brooklyn-based grassroots Non-Profit that focuses on youth development. It teaches independence skills, including urban gardening, culinary arts, financial improvement, tradesmanship, physical wellness, & entrepreneurial skills. All this while providing other community-based programs & events for youths and families needing food and resource support. They also have a performing arts program that allows young locals to express themselves positively through singing, drumming, dancing, and spoken word.
What We’re Funding: The drums they use are on loan. The money raised will allow DEAP to buy their own drums, flags for the dancing team, and a generator and mics for the chorus.
Transparency
We fundraise through ticket sales and donations from artists. Instead of vendor fees, each artist donates 15% – 20% of their proceeds. Silent Auction artists will also donate a portion of their earnings as they see fit. Raised funds also pay performers/DJs and the beautiful Mayday Space at their lowest rental fee tier, if not more. We hope to pay Mayday Space more as they are grassroots-run. The rest of the raised funds will be split between BKrot and Miss Princess’s DEAP.
History
The first two fundraisers were for the No North Brooklyn Pipeline Coalition. We raised $1500 the first time and $2500 the second time. So let’s make it $5000 this round!
What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than to show love for the communities that shape the world? Thank you, and see you there!
Food & Drink
There will be food! If you spend more than $10 per ticket, you will get a meal token with your ticket. There will also be free beer and hard seltzers, an edibles vendor, and potentially additional food vendors.
