Street Talkers ’08 Election Edition

For this installment of Street Talkers, GO stepped off the street and into New York’s swanky Sunday brunch party, Stiletto, to ask their savvy patrons: Who are you voting for and why?

Name: Shiri

Age: 31

Residence: Los Angeles

Occupation: Hair Stylist

Last book read: I’m not a big reader

Your Vote: I’m on the fence. Obama scares me a bit. He doesn’t seem to commit to anything. McCain has some good points, but I don’t want to vote Republican. I may just not vote at all.

Important Issues: How we are going to change our economy for the better.

Does being queer affect your decision? It impacts it a lot. I want someone who’s more progressive in office, a little bit more liberal. They both seem to be somewhat close-minded. Obama says he’s for gay rights, but then he says he doesn’t agree with gay marriage.
