Playbill x The Neon Coven Announces “Glimmer of Light,” First-Ever Live Pride Concert

“This is an incredible opportunity to bring our LGBTQ+ and ally communities together for an all-out, inclusive, and safe Pride spectacular after being apart for so long.”

Playbill will produce its first-ever live concert Pride event, “Glimmer of Light,” on June 17th. The inclusive in-person and virtual event will take place in Radial Park in Halletts Point, Queens, and will stream free the following week on Playbill’s online platforms.

“We are so proud to be able to evolve Playbill’s annual Pride Celebration this year after the more muted Pride festivities of June 2020,” Alex Birsh, Playbill Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, said in a statement. “This is an incredible opportunity to bring our LGBTQ+ and ally communities together for an all-out, inclusive, and safe Pride spectacular after being apart for so long.”

“Glimmer of Light,” which is created by the queer artist trope, The Neon Coven, will feature appearances by Ariana DeBose, Jo Ellen Pellman, Marti Gould Cummings, Alex Newell, Max Crumm, and Jan from ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race.’ It will feature original music and choreography by Andrew Barrett Cox. The in-person event will also feature ASL interpreters.

Tickets for the in-person event are being sold for socially-distanced pods; attendees can purchase picnic-table seating for up to 6 people ($300 per table VIP, $200 per table regular) or drive-in space for up to 5 people ($300 per car VIP, $200 car regular). All proceeds go to the Born This Way Foundation

In addition to socially-distanced seating, the event will also include additional safety protocols. All attendees and participants will be temperature-checked upon arrival. Radial Park will also require color-coded wrist-band entries for participants based on vaccination status and comfort level.

Tickets for the live event can be purchased through Playbill’s website. For those who can’t attend, “Glimmer of Light” will stream on Playbill’s website and YouTube channel for free the following week.
