100 Women We Love 2007

We present to you this year’s selection of 100 out women who have made an impact on the community. Meet the class of 2007.

Jackie Warner
The owner of lofty Sky Sport & Spa, located high above Los Angeles, started her first company at 22. Hocking 25-pound cellular phones in the early ‘90s quickly made the small-town Ohio native a big-city success. Next came Lift, her first gym. Then Sky. Then Bravo called. Their search for the ultimate locale in which to film a fitness reality show led them to Warner’s self-designed, self-built Sky. Impressed with her all-around gumption and skill, the cable network rep said, “I think we’ve found our star.” Says Warner, “Nobody expected a lesbian business owner, especially a pretty lesbian business owner.” The reformed workaholic, who admits to quitting any job once she loses her passion, has built herself an empire perched over Wilshire Blvd. and has never looked down. Fearless? No. There’s one thing she does worry about: “Finding a partner. I’m difficult.” –MW
