Blue Note, one of the premiere jazz clubs in the world, is bringing another exciting music act to Turnstyle underground marketplace this month. Underground Horns, a Brooklyn based brass band playing Afro Funk Bhangra New Orleans grooves and beyond will perform at Turnstyle on February 28th from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. This FREE musical performances features a group that includes alto saxophonist Welf Dorr, who, originally from Munich (Germany), moved 1995 to New York where he played/recorded with Sonny Simmons, Frank Lacy, Sabir Mateen, Butch Morris, Kenny Wollesen, Jojo Kuo and Vernon Reid a.o. Turnstyle is conveniently located below Columbus Circle at Eighth Avenue, from 57th to 58th Streets, all connected directly to the subway platforms, and completely accessible from above ground.
