“Making Faces” presents a selection of images from the Department of Film’s extensive collection of film stills that explore the representa-tion of historical “otherness” on-screen. Photographic enlargements capture both con-scious and unconscious deviations from cultural, social, racial, and gender expectations from the silent era through the Blaxploitation films of the 1970s.
