What is a silent disco? We are so glad you asked!

Wikipedia defines a silent disco as an “event where people dance to music listened to on wireless headphones, rather than using a speaker system.” It was invented in the 1990s to avoid noise pollution and disturbance to wild life. It allows you to party into the early hours of the morning without bothering anyone. You control your own party, right alongside other people controlling their own party.

With 3 channels/colors that each correspond to a different DJ, you get to choose your vibe with the flip of a switch. Expect an incredibly talented group of 5 or more DJs rotating throughout the night, making Astoria glow red, green and blue. You also get to choose your dance floor! Whether you wanna be right under the stage next to the DJ, or outside strutting up and down the block, it’s totally up to you.

Just remember a few things…

1. Consent is SEXY

2. This is a queer space so please be respectful.

3. We will be in a residential area so when outside, please remember the “silent” part of silent disco and watch for cars and pedestrians.

4. You are going to have the absolute best night of your LIFE!

We will require an ID to hold onto as collateral for headphones. Participants will also sign a waiver assuming all responsibility for damage/loss of property, as well as personal injury.
