The Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art (LLMA) is the only contemporary art museum in the world dedicated to LGBTQIA+ art and artists. Through queer creativity we are boldly building a better world for LGBTQIA+ people with artists leading the way. Leslie-Lohman is a space of imagination, connection, and celebration built by and for our community!

This fall, we have the extraordinary honor of celebrating Margaret Rose Vendryes, Ph.D and Honey Dijon, two visionaries whose lives and legacies open portals to queer creativity, joy, and futurity.

Margaret Rose Vendryes, Ph.D. was an accomplished academic, brilliant artist, and long time beloved LLMA trustee, who passed away unexpectedly earlier this year. Margaret actively shaped and her values continue to guide the trajectory of the Museum. Her joie de vivre, tenacity, and vision continue to give Leslie-Lohman wings.

From Chicago to NYC to Berlin to Beyonce to the stratosphere – Honey Dijon is a one woman revolution in action. Breaking boundaries and igniting possibility in all she does, Honey embodies Leslie-Lohman’s guiding values of queer liberation and magic. We are particularly pleased to honor Honey with a very special award created by the artist Jonathan Lyndon Chase.

These women’s lives are both truly one of “firsts,” unstoppable, busting through every glass ceiling and offering fresh ways of seeing and being.

Partner with us to boldly harness the power of queerness, reimagining and reconfiguring Leslie-Lohman into a living space of intersectional creation, community, and activism!

If you would like to gift a ticket for artists to attend this year’s Gala, please note “Artist” in the first name field as prompted during the ticket purchase and registration.

Not able to attend and would like to donate to Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art, please visit: https://leslielohman.kindful.com/?campaign=1215696 to support the Museum!
