Dixon Place’s new theatrical commission of On The Rocks Theatre Company’s sci-fi comedy with music FRED centers on the titular robot, who has origins as a pool vacuum. After keeping his inventor’s widow alive for over two hundred years, Fred decides they both could use a change. Taking a leap of faith, he packs up their home in Phoenix and relocates them to a retirement space station orbiting Pluto, where something is awakened in Fred’s ancient companion. This world premiere production plays six performances only on March 17th, 18th, 24th, 25th, 31st and April 1st at 7:30 PM, at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street).
